I don't remember what I did but I was able to view the readings for class today. The information from "Pretty Bloody: Women and Stereotypes in Horror Movies" was actually interesting. It is actually symbolic annihilation that is being used in those movies, the way that the women is underrepresented in film. I never realized that in the Halloween movies the teens that died are the ones that drank and smoke. It's interesting how the horror movies always have women that are the victims because women are viewed to be weak and vulnerable for a man. I was just reading about symbolic annihilation last night and I found it interesting that the readings were about the same subject today.
